    Question Installation Repair?

    Civil 3D LD Companion 2008

Every time I try to access the "File" menu, AutoCAD prompts a fatal error and shuts down. I have found ways around using the menu since I normally don't have time to fool with it, but I have a few minutes and would like to fix it.

I would assume I would have to run an installation repair of some sort, so I inserted the disc to see if there was a repair option, but the only choices I saw were "Install Products", "Create Deployment" and "Install Tools and Utilities".

    Any suggestions?

In a nutshell, I create 3D models from the client's CAD files or design sketches, which I then use to produce high quality rendered images. Click on the link in my signature to view my portfolio. I'm always looking for work, so let me know if you need any renders. :)

If you want to run a repair on your program, click on your Windows Start button and select 'Control Panel'. From the Control Panel window, select 'Add/Remove Programs'. Now select your Autocad program from the list and then click the Change button. This will open an Autocad set-up dialog. Just follow the instructions to repair errors in your installation.

Mostly do drafting related to manufacturing. From doing site layouts with proposed updates, additions and renovations to be budgeted and submitted for bid, to updating and changing existing drawings to reflect maintenance and repair/revision work done on site.
