Default .dbf in exported ESRI Shape file

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

Hy, I"m working in AutoCad 6.

My map contains points with x and y coodrinates, around them are circles.
I want to export them in shape file (which creates .dbf, .shp, .shx files), but .dbf doesn"t contain useful database (it writes: name of file_ID, and nothing else), I need number of point and its coordinates (x and y).

How can I create .dbf with that 3 datas- number of point, x coordinate, y coordinate?

    Thanks for all helpful answers

I don't think AutoCAD will do the .dbf. Is this for ArcGis or something? Are you using 3DMAP or something?

Yes, its for GIS (precisley for ArcPad)
and AutoCad can create .dbf, I have found the way how to get coordinates few minutes ago, but they are not correct

    Default AutoCAD can't Map can

Maybe you're using Autodesk MAP 6 and not AutoCAD 6.
Go to MAP menu, Tools submenu and Export menu entry
Choose Shape file from file type (shp is the extension).
If you need to import points, check this useful tool for importing points in autocad

Thats right, I"m using Autodesk MAP 6, my mistake, sorry..

    I solved the problem;

Durring exporting shape file Export window is displayed, on 2nd tab (DATA) I choosed datas for .dbf file, in my case that would be ID_number, x coordinate and y coordinate, and thats it!!!

Final product is shape file with related data base (.dbf) wich you can open in MS Access, Excel... and arrange geted datas

Smile Addons to import points and SHP esri in AutoCAD (from Italy)

Yes, if you have only AutoCAD you need an addon like ImportPoints or ImportShapes from ABC AutoCAD.
Try the Downloads for AutoCADpage It's an italian site, but you can find also an english page for AutoCAD addons
