    Default How to show scale

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I have my product scaled at 3"-1' and I want to show how it's being scaled automattically with text on my paper space drawing. How do I do that?

    Hey Jaketheman,

A field can be used to track and display a viewport scale.

Start the relevant text command and cick Insert Field to add a field
    Upload 001.jpg

Choose Object as Field Category and select the required viewport as Object type. Under property choose custom scale and select the required format.
    Upload 002.JPG

AutoCAD inserts a field into the text string that checks the viewport’s scale. The field displays the current value and updates whenever it changes

Hope this is of some help,

    Jammie

and as a cross check that it hasn't been plotted on the wrong size paper and naffed the scale up, do you turn the plotstamp on and select scale to show in that too?

No Strix I haven't known how to do that, but that's I believe exactly what I'm trying to do. Jamiee thanks though for the answer because that does help a lot. But as far as a plotstamp goes, that sounds like its exactly what I'm looking for. How do I do that?

For the text editor go to Options>Files and make sure it is set to "Internal", or what ever text editing program you want like Word, Excel or NotePad. Just use the browse option to pick another program. You can also use MTEXTED to set it to Internal or what ever.

I found where I can use Text Formatting, however when I try to plot I do not get any "Plot Options" on my plotting screen. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Here is a picture of what appears when I goto File> Plot

Perhaps that feature is not available on 2007? It appears you're window seems to be a little more up to date, your buttons are smooth mine are squared :-(
