    Default Toggle Block

We have a title block which contains 'preliminary' and then 'contruction' text when required - is there anyway to make a dynamic block which toggles between these two on clicking?

Yep, I have just the block.
It has more status stamps than you asked for, but they can easily be removed, should you want to

to toggle this block. after inserting it into a drawing, select the block, then pick the blue triangle and you should get a drop-down of selections.
simply select the one you wish to display.

It's exactly what I want. How do I modify it for my drawing stamps?

    The stamps I use are;
    FOR CONSTRUCTION
    INFORMATION ONLY
    ISSUED FOR TENDER
THESE CHANGES ARE MADE SO I CAN WATCH YOU SWEAT

What happened when you tried bedit?

What you need to do is create a look up parameter and action, next dble click on the action and in the right hand column fill in the rows with the options you need. Then create an attribute and insert a field into it and link the field to your lookup. Done

Thats ok, First off (assuming you have 06 or higher), select the block and right click > block editor.

Once in the block editor you should have a new tool palette called Block Authoring Palette. This palette contains tools that create parameters and actions, these are what makes a block dynamic.

Basically a parameter are the quidlines for what the actions do.

For what you are wanting to do you will need a visibility parameter.
What this lil beauty does is controls all the objects that make up the block and organises them into visibility states (when i say it does it, you have to tell it what to do)

So if you go to the palette and on the parameter tab select the vis parameter and specify where you want to place it. Next dble click on it, this will bring up the manager, in here you create your different vis states. You need to create one for each of your drawing stamps. Ok when you have created them.

Next create some text with all the drawing stamps (one text object per stamp) Now you have to set what text object is visible in what vis state, so if you right click and you will see object visibility > hide for current state or show for current state. Now you can go about making sure the correct text is visible in the correct vis state.

    Hope this helps

If you check in help there are some really good tutorials.
