Layers!!!

Excuse my ignorance!! I have a little query anout layers. If I have say fifty layers on a drawing, but only want say ten to show at a given time is there anyway I can alter the layers so I can just switch between view?

Yeah, it's called "layer states", I think. I'm just loading acad up to check at the moment.

Yeah, that's correct. In Layer Properties manager dialogue, there is a button at the top LHS called Layer States Manager. Just turn on only those layers you want to name for a layer state, and name away. Then every time you only want only those layers showing, go back there and recall that layer state.

This is why the Layer States exists!
I never used ADT but it should be the same. Turn off some of the layers and go to the Layers Prop Manager, then click the Layer States Manager and give a name to the current layer configuration. Return to the drawing, turn on/off some layers and give an other name to this new configuration.
Create as many others as you wish and switch from one to the other with a few clicks (from the Layer Manager again)
