Dont worry, I'm not asking how to simply edit text.I need to know if there is a way that I can add a number to all the text I have. Example: In my drawing, i've got elevations for manholes as "MTEXT." I need to add another height of 6.56 to each of those numbers without going through and editing every single one by hand. Is there a command for that? I'm using AutoCAD 2002.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks,

AFAIK there's not a simple command to do this... is what you want to do a mathmatical operation, i.e. 6.56+2.40 & you want it to read 8.96, or a find replace exercise, i.e. text reads 240 & you want it to read 6.56240? Is there other text in your MTEXT entities, such as I.L. or something?
Well, what i've got is this....actually a bunch of these.
"SSMH 45
Top Elev: 568.31
Inv In: 555.73
Inv Out: 565.64"
What i'm wanting to do is add an elevation of 6.56 to every number. There are 46 of these individual "MTEXT" entities.
Ah... I think you mean mathmatical addition then... extremely difficult task that I'd imagine a lisp would struggle with. I can't get that TXM.lsp to do it but someone else might have more luck.

I have used TXM with great success, but all my level text is Dtext on a separate layer, and by itself (no letter characters) which makes life much easier.
Plan ahead for situations like this![]()
