Default Finding points on a spline

I am evaluating autocad for application development. Finding points on a spline (defined by crtiteria such as distance from andpoint, percent of spline length from endpoint, etc.) will be very important fotr this application. However, there seems to be little that autocad does to help this along. I can find nothing in the standard menus. Also nothing in VBA. There appear to be a few commands in LISP (such as vlax-curve-getPointAtDist), which I guess are commands/methods in the ObjectArx library that are accessible from LISP, but not easily. Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks.

check out the downloads page on www.resourcecad.com ~ theres' a Point On Object (POO) [yes, seriously] free download. Downloads are accessible through the Services menu
you can place a point on any object by using length, snappoints or by percentage of length. Works on all objects, arcs' plines, lines, circles, splines etc
you have to register in order to download but the registration is free.
