Default add [solved] to solved problems?

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

i've seen this in other forums: when a problem is solved, then the original poster edits the title so that it says "[solved] problem printing to PDF" or something similar. then us noobs could more quickly find the answer to our problems. just a suggestion.

another suggestion: couldn't there be some kind of low-voltage electric shock delivered through the mouse to people who use descriptive titles like "help!", "problem", "grrr", etc. for their posts?

I couldn't agree with you more.

It is becoming obviously difficult for the FAQ team trying to search back for research data on FAQs.

Sounds good to me, some people never say if the problem was ever solved, some people come here to get an answer and never return, it would be good if people would take the time to do this but we cannot make them do it (shame) as for HELP!!!! etc titles, the mods can take care of that If we spot them but some do slip by

Myself I edited a few titles and also I adviced the novice users to name the new threads correctly. I take this opportunity to ask people again; a good title will make the forum easie to search for futurer users having the same problem.

I think this is a very good idea. I will make an announcement shortly. I doubt that we'll get everyone to do this but it's well worth a try.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Don't worry, it's not obvious!

To change the title of a thread, you must be the thread starter. You cannot change the title of other people's threads (unless you are a moderator).

Go to the forum view page where you can see a list of all the threads. Then, double-click in the space just to the right of the thread title. This will cause an in-line edit box to appear (see image). Edit the title as required and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard. The edit is complete.
