    Default Password recovery

    Hello, everyone!

I'm using AutoCAD 2006, and I have recently lost the password to one of my important files.
Could you please share any ideas for recovering this password?
    Any input will be appreciated

If you download a benchmark program, such as PCWizard, there is a password tab, which searchs your computer for passwords, in your temp files, and tells you to erase them

but will also list them for you.

    Thanks for the hint -
one question related to it: this file is on my office computer, not home; so I'm wondering whether I'll be able to recover it the file being on my flashdrive; but at the office i won't be able to install the program, since our IT person is away on holiday for two weeks...
I'll still try to do that. Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

Mmmhh, the password you are talking about is the one you can set when saving files? I mean:

File > Save as > Tools > Security Options > Password

That one I am afraid is a bit more difficult to restore or delete, and even an experienced IT will have problems.
That's what I was told when I asked about the opportunity of protecting files with a password, but maybe I'm wrong

I do not believe you can recover it easily. You will need to find someone capable of cracking passwords.

Surely you have some idea as to what the password could be.

I have never heard of an AutoCAD drawing password being cracked.
If the file was this important, you should have the password backed up somewhere.
