    ALAN, Thanx for all the help i added the text to the end of my acad.lin file thru notepad saved it and when going into linetype menu the recently added linestyles do not appear in the list either acad.lin or acadiso file, there is something very wrong here and also when in the modelspace I cant open the linetype dropdown when clicking I am not sure what is causing any of these issues except its monday ugh!!!

    Try restarting AutoCAD and see if the Linetypes are in there.

    Alan, we would like to see how your linetypes work for one time....

    Rename the file to akc.shx. Then you should be in business.

    the zip and or the attachment do not appear to be a valid zip file my putertold me to go F myself possible you can reattach and try again or better yet just place a graphical example in text form so i can just copy and paste into word

    It is not a zip file, it is a .shx file. I renamed the extension to post it here. Just rename it AKC.shx.
