Default GROUP operation not working properly

I'm working with a trial version of AutoCAD 2008, and the GROUP operation doesn't do what it used to do in 2006. I used to be able to take a whole bunch of seperate objects and treat them all as one object by performing the group operation on them. Then, when I move them, they move as one piece, when I rotate them, they rotate as one piece, when I scale them, they scale as one piece, etc. But with 2008, the only thing grouping seems to do is make sure they all highlight together. As for moving, rotating, scaling, etc. the only object that responds to these operations is exactly the one I click on. The others don't change accordingly.

    Try setting Pickstyle=1 (or 3) or Ctrl+H
