Did you just want to see the boundary of the xclips? If so there is an option in the xclip command (atleast in 06 there is)

curious if it's possible to instantly see all the xclipped portions of the dwg (the visual equivalent of freezing everything but the current layer). i've heard/read on the inverted xclip but it doesn't apply because a) i'm on 2000 (have "access" to 2008 but don't work on it), and b) it's not exactly what i'm looking for.
if it were my dwgs i were working on i'd simply leave defpoints notes when i made them, but that is not the case.
any insight?

ah. the generate Polyline option. thank you.
seems to generate a pline around all blocks as well though. are xrefs and blocks somehow considered 'related' to xclipped material? beyond the fact that you need it to be a block before you xclip. just curious.

xref and blocks can be clipped by the same xclip command...because it the same comamnd for both types of entities when you generate the pline it will do it for both/all at the same time...
