    Default Data Extraction

I'm using Autocad Architecture 2008. Initially, when I used the data extraction wizard and inserted a data extraction table in the drawing, the table would automatically update changes to the counts of blocks (with attributes) in the drawing when I saved. For some reason, it is no longer performing automatic updates. I tried the command DXEVAL with a setting of 2 and then saving, but even if I select Update All, the count doesn't update. I also had no luck right clicking the count cells in the data extraction table and doing a data extraction\update data extraction. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or what setting I changed by mistake?

Haven't tried writing a LISP for this--are you suggesting this would be a better way than the data extraction?
