I Am Running Autocad 2007lt. I Am Trying To Start A Cd Set.
So In A Folder I Call Cd1 I Creatred A Dwg Call 'base'. And Another Call 'title'. I Open The Base And Do Save As And Call It 'a-1' Then I Erase And Purge The Drawing. Then I Xref The Base (in Model Space) Ok No Problem I Can See It .
Then In Paper Space I Xref The Title Sheet - Can Not See It Xref Manager Show That It Is Loaded I Can See It In The Preview Below But I Can Not See It On The Drawing (paper Space) I Can Create A Viewport And See The Base . I Did This So Many Times Finally I See The Title Sheet And I Thought My Problem Was Over Until I Test Print . Does Not Show Up I Can See Everything Else But The Title Sheet.

Try ZOOM Extents...if your old school your titleblock may be scaled up 100 times...(assuming metric)![]()
If at first you don't succeed, then maybe failure is more your style.
Make sure the title block inwhich you are trying to xref in isn't drawing in paperspace. xref will only bring in line work from the xref'd drawing model space.
We have goofs here that try that all the time and I just laugh! But if you didn't know this it can be frustrating!
Hope this helps!

Also be sure you didn't insert the xref onto a frozen or locked layer.
You never want to shoot yourself in the foot, Especially when it's in your mouth.
Am I just an idiot, or does no one really savy what the hell is going on.
Why the hell does every one want to use xrefs for a dwg title block?
Just set your title block up as a block. Then bring it into MS. Then send it to any layout as required. get away from xrefs, they are too much trouble.
Okay, I have had my say.

I'll leave that one alone.
Danny, as you can guess , people have their own opinions on using xrefs, dimensions and layers..there is no right or wrong way.
just what you are comfortable with.
That said alan might actually have a point with making simple tasks more complicated then they need to be.

There is a very good reason for using an x-ref title block.
you only need to make changes ONCE.
Just setting the release date for a set of 60 drawings can take forever, let alone if there are mutiple changes (revision date, address, etc.).

Yes i agree with you. i have experince of using it & very comfertable with it.
for an answer to original question, there r various poosibilites.
1. scale of the drawing as mentioned by other replies
2. drawing is x-refed in deff point layer - which not to be print mode
or it is x-refed in another layer which has been set to not to be plotted layer (it happens with me all the time)
for allen
you may not have experince using x-ref effectively. i learnt correct use of x-ref befor e3 years & always think why i did not learnt it beofre. also with x-ref it is very important to set path to relative path. you can also modify path in other's drawing to set it to relative path for your use.
One thing that makes it easy to use in an expected large set is place your companies Title Block xref in a palette. Then when ever you needed to xref it in, you do not even need to open the xref dialog box. Just drag and drop from the palette into your paperspace. Fast and furious. You can have the master block in a protected area on the network but by virtue of the palette, it becomes available to all for xref use.
