Your information is useful and I like the Gimp. I'm going to have a try. I'm wondering could you please offer the information about the open source of a software powerful like Dreamweaver?

I've downloaded Gimp. But when I installed it, message pop up like this: "GIMP2.6 does not appear to be installed in the selected directory. Continue anyway? " How did this happen?

Not really much out there like Dreamweaver for free. You can look at KompoZer which does offer WYSIWYG editing.

    Also look at BlueGriffon
    http://bluegriffon.org/

MS has WebMatrix that is a bit harder to use but with more tools.

I'd just try to re-install and see if that fixes it. Look at Paint.net as well.

New open source 2D CAD package out there, LibreCAD. I installed an alpha of r2 and it has promise. It has a command line and a similar look and feel to AutoCAD from several years ago, r14 or so. Took a quick spin but not much more. Default file format seems to be r2007 dxf. It can export to standard graphic files including SVG. Looks like it can import .shp files for what it's worth. Currently I wouldn't recommend it over DraftSight currently but perhaps it will mature with time.
