First thought, make sure your DIMSCALE is set to 1 in model space. I assume that is where you are dimensioning in.

Hi
Im using a annotation scale of 1/1 the thing is when i draw a line and i add the dimension it always comes up real small is there a way to make this bigger without exploding it and then using the scale command to alter it.
Alan how do i do that.

If you are drawing Dimensions and they are to be annotative then you need to make the Dimstyle to be annotative too. This should negate any need to change Dimscale manually at any point.
Maybe this will help:

Hello
Try leaving dimensions until you create your paperspace layout, then set your dimension style to 'scale dimensions to layout' (on the 'fit' tab).
The size of the dimension text will then relate to the paperspace, rather than modelspace, and a text size of 3 will plot as 3mm high.
Hope this helps.
Paul.
