with regards to the startup issue, search for STARTUP within AutoCAD help.

and with the Zoom-Extents thing try switch UCSFOLLOW to 1 or 0 (whichevere one it's NOT set to right now)

and two things about your settings and stuff - have you got your own Profile that you can load each morning? And perhaps make a acaddoc.lsp-file that sets all the variables (like Pickfirst and UCSFOLLOW and your OSNAPS and stuff) to how you want it.

What worked? and what is the next one?

the accaddoc.lsp thing? "How do I automaticaly load variables?"

For the profile - go Options > Profile > Export and export your settings into a profile. To load it, do the same Options > Profile > Import.

The Profile should take care of that - otherwise come back and someone will come up with another way to approach it.

    Always glad to help

    "annoying start up window"

If it's the same as the annoying start-up window we sometimes get, try this:

    Map pull-down menu/Options/Workspace tab
check OFF the "Show Workspace on startup"
Did you hear about the drafter who died? He couldn't draw his breath.
