Hello all, ive had a hard time finding any information/support for AEC content. Ive created several blocks and am having some minor issues with them. I think it might be a compatibility issue but im not sure. Do any of you know of any good resources for AEC content? The main goal behind this is to make a block libary that the whole office can use by selecting the block they want, using design center to see a icon then selecting it. Also, if the block needs editing to do that and it automatically change on everybodys AEC design center. Sort of like a xref. Any Suggestions?Any help would be creatly appreciated!

    Thanks alot!

    Matt

Not sure if it's what you're after but we use a folder which can be accessed via Insert- Library, it's a folder which is stored on the server and everyone can access it... I don't know how you point to said folder but hopefully it might get others thinking along this line..?

Hey matt, any luck in finding a solution? My office is in the exact same boat I have been assigned to this task and have been searching for a solution for weeks now.

    Wow, old thread.

Tool Palettes would be a better option in my opinion.

The visual picking is the easy part like above probably start with tool palletes. I am pretty sure you can not update a master block in a seperate location and have it reflect in you current dwg other than by xref if you have say 100 blocks that would be painfull. You could though run a lisp etc that reads the block list reloads them from a location thus updating them. This would be a better way as old drawings would not reflect changed blocks unless you want them to. eg In Word people put DATE as today you never know when the letter was originally drafted.

Search here for Attsync I know others will have code examples to import and update a block.
