if you have express tools installed, there is a routine called "flatten" that might do the trick.
if not you might select the lines, and in the properties dialog box, change the properties "start Z" and "end Z" to 0

Hello,
I made a sketchup model for design purposes and then gave it to one of my employees to use as an underlay to draft elevations in autocad. Unfortunately, she drew the autocad elevations by snapping to the sketchup model, meaning the lines which are supposed to be in one plane are all over the place, top view is fine, but when you look at axo or elevations you realize that the z elevations are every which way.
Is there a command that makes all line work flat, no z elevations?
desperate...
Thanks, Ryan

Thanks, in this case too many lines to do it manually...
I did try the dxb plotter and dx bin command, this solved half the problem, it flattened but put everthing on layer 0....
I'll look at express.
How about using the Flatten LISP routine for doing that?

No problem - we're here to help![]()
I'd be interested to hear what you think of Sketchup. Everyone I speak to who have used it have only good things to say about it.

I'm a fan of Sketchup. I started using 3ds (dos) back in 1995-96, and I have used it on many architectural projects for years. I have found the time required for me to make my max renderings look 'warm and fuzzy' was high, with sketchup, I can make drawings that clients like...quickly. Now that I own company that is really important to me.
I use it for hand drawn sketch overs and for stand alone (w/photoshop tweaking) presentations.
I'll try to paste a sample rendering here(pdf), not sure if I can, if not many of my renderings are at: www.conner-design.com.
