I have set my drawing units to Architectural. I than draw a a square 40' by 40'. Than when I go to paper space I set my view port scale to 1" = 40'. The square should now be 1" by 1" on the layout. I checked and my paper size is 8.5x11.
The problem: When I set the view port scale my square is scaled up so large it doesn't even all fit in the view port. Why is the view port not scaling properly?
If I set drawing units to decimal and draw a square 40 by 40 everything seems to work right.
Please help.

You can get it jumpin' You can get it pumpin' You can get it chasing a cow. Matter o' fact, I got it now.

Well for starters, 40' ='s 480 decimal units so that would explain why 40 decimal units would fit nicely in your view port![]()
I have been choosing the scale from the list at the bottom right hand corner
This is really perplexing and I have no idea what is going on.
I went to EDITSCALELIST it looks right and I restored it to make sure everything went back to default. That didn't seem to do anything
type the scale in so u know its right, dont choose from the list these scales have been setup n may not be right. u could also check if they r right in using SCALELISTEDIT

I'd be glad to upload it. How do I do that? How do I type in the view port scale instead of choosing?
