I'm expecting 2009 MEP in the mail anytime now and have never used a 3D application (short of using autocad itself). Wondering if there is a forum like this for it (did a search here and got nuthin) or if anyone has an opinion about it.![]()
thanks,

VERY cool Styk, do you know the diff. between it and Revit? (I'm clueless) Reason I ask is I had to choose between firms and liked the idea of MEP (since I'm a plumber/piper) better (not knowing)

Well, 1st of all, Revit is not AutoCAD. It's not even in the same category other than it's a CAD software package. But that's it.
Revit is very specific. It is a true B.I.M. system. I don't think that AutoCAD MEP is a "true" B.I.M. system, but can be considered one. Depends on who you ask.
You should get the Revit/MEP Suite. It's only $100 difference in an upgrade package. At least it was for me when my company upgraded my station with it. So I have Revit, in which I'm attending a 3-day training course in a month on. I already know how to use Revit but it's only the basics.
AutoCAD MEP however, I'm already pretty efficient in, even with the gbXML engineering data import/export which seems to be the hardest part. Everything else works in a normal AutoCAD environment.![]()
