SLW210
I would use _SOLIDEDIT>FACES>TAPER and/or MOVE
ReMark
I don't think the OP has his boards lined up correctly.
DryDiver
]Slice is working to a large degree, on 3 of my corners. I tried this on the last corner and am told that "Slicing plane does not intersect 6 selected solids". I studied with 2005 version and these 2012 commands are all new to me. Trying to get a grasp on some of it! I am making progress, as slow as it seems. Thanks for any help! ReMark
You'll have to relocate the slicing plane up or down as the case may be. I still don't think the boards will meet up the way you want unless you have already made the correction.

ReMark
Post a close up image of one of the corners. Is this a residence?
fuccaro
Returning to the original question, as trimming two solids. You can copy one solid in top of itself and use the Subtract command-as showed previously. Other way: use the Interfere command and ask for intersection solid (just follow the command prompt). You can subtract that solid from the cylinder.
