    I used to set crosshairs at 100% to help grade student work, but haven't done that for years - never had any problem since reducing.
    One thing to watch out for in isometric grid crosshairs should be put to 99% rather than 100 or it will be messed up in r2007 and later.
    I have always preferred a black screen in model space and paperspace, but I'll give the new interface a chance this fall before I make a decision to change background.
