I appologise if posting this in the wrong section , i am asking this on behalf of a friend as allegedly I am more likely to understand the response as I have used AutoCad
in my education. Although this is a question about 3D models, where i have even less knowledge on.
Anyhow this is a CAD file i have been sent, i am led to believe he uses auto cad 2008, the question is with using these projections can you produce a 3D model out of it , or does he have to start from scratch.

Cant seem to upload the file so here it is as a screenshot

    Many thanks
    Nathan

In a nutshell, I create 3D models from the client's CAD files or design sketches, which I then use to produce high quality rendered images. Click on the link in my signature to view my portfolio. I'm always looking for work, so let me know if you need any renders. :)

Well, you can't just press a button and have a 2D drawing transform into a 3D model, if that's what you're asking. He will have to build the model from scratch. But, at least he has this drawing to use as reference to get dimensions and proportions correct.

There are some good 3D video tutorials here, to help get started: http://www.dgcad.com/Acad2007-3D.htm
