Default AutoCAD LT : This version of....

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

This version of AutoCAD LT was not installed properly and some features may not run correctly.
You should reinstall AutoCAD LT immediately to make sure all features are working properly. Do you wish to continue? YES NO

    Anyone seen this before?

I have spoke with ADE$K, and as I suspected they blamed the .NET framework. I have uninstalled LT, uninstalled all instances of the .NET framework, and the reinstalled LT and allowed it to install the framework. Done this twice and after a few days the problem comes back.
Running on XP Pro. Was working fine until a week ago. No changes have been made to the machine in the last few weeks, just Sketchup installed, but this shouldn't be conflicting or I am sure many more people would complain about it....

    Thanks.

I've been getting this recently aswell! Also my layers manager has ceased to work properly! I've reinstalled numerous times and it still pop's up twice before I can use the program. (if I respond No, the program shuts down, if yes it continues as normal, apart from the layer manager and customisation commands).

    I seriously have no idea!!

    Try this:

Uninstall ACAD completely. Then go to www.download.com and search for Crap Cleaner.

Download Crap Cleaner and install it, then run the Registry cleaning utility. Once finished you may uninstall Crap Cleaner.

    Try reinstalling ACAD again.

If this doesnt help, try doing a system restore to a few weeks before the problems started. Usually if you delete a program or certain files, the NET framework will go out of whack and most times it's registry related.

"These errors indicate corruption of the .NET Framework." Thank you Microsoft. Now the question is, what would cause continued corruption of .NET Framework? Perhaps they could take the time to answer that one.

What version of LT was being used at the time? What version of .NET Framework was installed?

I read somewhere there was a cleanup tool that will delete shared files and registry keys used by other versions of the .NET Framework. Haven't found it yet. Will keep looking.

First. Take a look at this article from Microsoft regarding XP and .NET Framework 1.1:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824643/en-us

Second. Page down until you see a reference to a removal tool.

The article outlines numerous steps to repair the problem even to the point of manually editting the Registry. Be forewarned, that if you take this suggestion then back up your Registry before you edit it. Gotta have some insurance. Good luck. Let us know of the outcome.
