    Question 2009 Civ 3D ?

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I just recieved my new Civ 3D vision of CAD and I cant figure out how to turn off a function. If I go to a dwg and copy an object, line, ect... and then try to paste it into another dwg it blows it up by an unspecified scale. My units are set to unitless (but I have tried others and has no effect either way). If anyone has any idea on how to turn off this function, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Is INSUNITS set to 0 in the drawing where you are pasting the geometry?

Are you sure it's scaling the geometry? Have you measured it in each drawing?

The INSUNITS is set to 2 ( I dont know what that does btw), and it seems that its only doing it when I copy from a drawing that was previously set to arch units and I only work in decimal. But I copied a site plan from the arch dwg to a new dwg, scaled it down by 12 to make it true decimal units, then copied and pasted into the same dwg (different location) and it pasted in back to the arch units... (I'm stumped..)

Thanks for the input btw, I've been waiting on a reply for sometime now. =)

Try aecdwgsetup this did weird things to us when inserting another dwg, turn option off "scale objects inserted from other drawings".
