Some of you may have noticed a number of changes to the arrangement of forums on the board during the day. This thread is to let you know that all is well.

For some months I've been planning a reorganisation of the forums to make things a bit more logical and to incorporate specific forums for the various vertical products. This is not just my idea, there have been a number of member requests for such changes.

Some of the changes may have confused you. For example, the old "AutoCAD General" forum is now called "2D Drafting & Drawing Management" and the old "How Do I?" forum is now called "AutoCAD General". Obviously, I wasn't trying to confuse everyone but the new titles are more logical and better reflect the content of the respective forums. All you need to do now is get out of the habit of posting in AutoCAD General as a default because in most cases, there is a better place for your thread.

You'll also notice that I've introduced "Sub-Forums" on the board for the first time. This is an attempt to keep things from getting too unweildy. I'm sure you'll get used to them.

It's been a few years since the last reorganisation of the board and lots of things have changed at Autodesk, meaning that some of the forums were out of date. With luck, you'll find the new arrangement more useful and broader in scope.

    Comments welcome.

I think this is a great idea. Also, when newcomers arrive at this forum they can search more specifically in a vertical platform forum. I know I will be hanging around in the MEP section for the most part.

It will take a bit of getting used to, but not nearly as much as CAD updates- so I think we can all live with the "getting used to" part

But seriously I think it's much better, and the amount of work that must have gone in to reallocating threads, big congratulations CT

I just completed the second phase of forum reorganisation. This effectively gives more scope and focus for some of the most common AutoCAD questions and will help members decide where best to post them.
