    Default XRef doubt

    Hello there,

i've just figured out that when you call a drawing as reference and then later you change something in the original one, that makes no effect in the drawing where is being used as reference, i mean... autocad only updates the geometry but not the proprieties of each object, which can be really annoying because i need to change a linetype and now i must go to each drawing with that reference, i thought that after changing the original drawing there would be way to update those that had that drawing as reference.

thnaks in advanced for our answeres guys

    I'm confused.

I make changes all the time to base models that show up in my files that Xref the file.

Are you attaching the file or inserting the file?

If you are attaching an Xref it should always go reload the latest version of the reference file.

thank you guys, i havent tried that yet, im a little busy with some other stuff, although the problem was related with a linetype, i had changed the linetype and the ltscale on my original drawing but that wasnt updated on my final drawing, it might have been because some of the lines were DGN(MIcrostation).

im gonna look for some of the best tips to work with references, i think i know quite enough however its always good to know more since im gonna need very often.
