    using a'clamshell support' ?

    weve been given a machine to design and the client wants us to use a 'clamshell support' to grip around a hyl cylinder,we aint got a clue what they mean,and we cant get hold of anybody to discuss it,so i'd though i'd ask in here to see if anybody knows,and maybe an example to look at.thanks

    I have heard of clamshell gates, which are hydraulic gates which open and close like a clam shell, other than that I don't know sorry..

    OK this is what we have a hyl cylinder bolted to a shear and they want a 'clamshell support' and it also needs to swivel,hence the bearing weve added
