standard A1 border size?

ive made up some borders and title blocks but im not 100% sure what size the borders should be to fit on an A1 size bit of paper. i know the standard A1 size is 841x594mm but what size should i make the border to get the optimum fit on this size of paper and allow a slight bit of extra round the edges?

The standard size is... standard. If you wish to make a smaller border to be sure that wil plot well -it depends on yor plotter. You can check the documentation you received with the plotter. Also you can draw the border and check in the Plot Preview if it shows corectly.
