Drawing Scale problems goes to plot problems

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I am using autoCAD architecture 2008. I started drawing but I did not set drawing setup before. Units are now in millimeters but I thought I was drawing in meters. Scale is set to 1:100 (have no clue what it means).I have to make prints of what I draw in 1:50. So how do I do it. Is it OK just to copy paste everything in new file where I set meters? What is the scale then?

Where can I change the background from black to white?

    How to make new template?

    Thank you for your answers.

In a nutshell, I create 3D models from the client's CAD files or design sketches, which I then use to produce high quality rendered images. Click on the link in my signature to view my portfolio. I'm always looking for work, so let me know if you need any renders. :)

Sorry, I don't work with metric scales, so I can't really help you with that. Although it sounds like you will need to scale your drawing up to make it the correct size. Copying and Pasting to a new drawing won't help you. I believe that 1 meter = 1000mm?

To change your background color, go to the "Tools" pull down menu and select "Options". On the "Display" tab, under "Window Elements", click the "Color" button. You can change the color of just about anything from there.

To create a drawing template, just open a new blank drawing and set it up however you want it. When you are finished, save it as .dwt format. When you select the .dwt format, in the SaveAs dialog, you will automatically be directed to the correct location for saving, so just hit Save and you're done. Now when you start a drawing, just go to File > New and then select your template from the list.

You can set decimal units and you can assume and draw for (1unit=1milli,1cm,1m).If you assume (1unit=1m),you want 3m for 3.Then you want 500mm for you can draw 0.5.For scale plotting, first you will create new layout and page set up.Second plot unit from layout is need to set 1:1.Then you can catch your model space view in layout by "MV".Finally you can set "Z" enter "1/50 XP" enter.X is model scale & P is paper scale. Then you can check with"vpscale" command if you have express tool.
