Default Updating a design layout drawing after making changes to a part.

I'm not used to how drafts and parts are separate in Inventor.

Anyhow, I opened up a layout (.dwg) with inventor, and made changes to a part by going through my list of sheets, going to my part, and then right clicking on the part and selecting "Open".

This opens the part (.IPT) file associated with my .DWG drawing.

I made the changes I needed to make in the .IPT part file, saved it, and I expected the layouts to update as well...

    They didn't update.

HELP! My alternative right now is to... recreate all the drawing views with the changes in them =[ !!

The parts were made using Mechanical Desktop, and converted/resaved into .ipt with Inventor because my MDT screwed up on me. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Hahaha, I found a temporary solution:
1: Create a new base view with the updated drawing
2: Overlap the two drawing views, the old one and the new one, by zooming in to the max (I wish there were snaps involved with moving drawing views)

    3. Making features I don't want seen "invisible".

    >_>...
    HELP!

This doesn't sound like a solution at all. The drawing views should update automatically. Can you attach a dataset that exhibits this behavior.

And BTW if you go out on the shop floor is the paper drawing the same as the part?
I can't figure out why some people have so much difficulty handling the fact that in Inventor (SolidWorks, Pro/E...) the files more closely represent the real world. If it really confuses you put all the ipt, idw and iam in ond folder. What is the difference between a folder icon and a dwg file icon? All 1s and 0s.
