    Default Multi-Seat AutoCAD License

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

Yep, don't ask my way, but I got a Multi-seat AutoCAD license for AutoCAD 2009 (at least, it says Seats: 3 on the tag on the CD so that means Multi-Seat right?) but I can't get it to work!!

THIS is the instruction i've been trying to follow, I've installed the Deployment thingy first and then installed the program via the quick-install-link that it creates. And I've activated the product on Autodesks hompage. Still, when I open AutoCAD it says "you have not registered and activated this product, would you like to do so now?"

    Anyone know what I'm missing?

What if you click yes when it asks you?

Then it asks if I want to enter an activation code or get one - I select Get One - and it tells me the serial number I've entered is not valid. All through the installationprocess the serial number worked..

You should have been prompted to enter the S/N at the time you were creating the deployment.

Then install to the client machine

Then after you launch for the first time, AutoCAD will try to activate via the Internet. If it's unsuccessful, you will be prompted to enter the activation code, which you can get from register.autodesk.com or from your reseller.

I entered the S/N when I did the deployment, and registered then and it was fine.

Now when I try to go into register.autodesk.com it prompts me for Server name and Server ID - which I have no clue about, at least, the clues I have it won't accept as Server ID.

Something like this happened to me when I installed a GIS software, it won't register via INET, but it also had a option to send them an email instead and they replied with the code I needed, don't know if ACAD has this option though.

Server Name and ID are referring to a network license server.
Are your client machines not connected to the Internet (or firewalled where they cannot connect?)

Yeah, they are connected to the Internet - I assume they have a firewall but that hasn't interfered with stuff before... will try to temp loose the firewall.

And yep, I got that Servere Name and ID should be the server where I put the Deployment - but in my head it's called 'M:/' and that won't cut it...

There is no reason to enter the server name and ID for MSSA deployments. It sounds like maybe the S/N you are trying to register is for network licensing.

hmm....you could very well be right. Then I need to call my lovely guys at the IT-dep. and tell them to upload the licenses to the network.

    Thanks RK
