I read that Solidworks can do a "save as" to DWG or DXF file formats.
I also found a program called DWG Export for Solidworks 1.0. It's available here:

Is this possible? I had a conference call today with a company in Germany that we're doing lots of work for and they use SolidWorks about 70% of the time, and he didn't know if this could be done or not because he's more of a manager, and not one of the designers. That would help me out tremendously if it can though in future projects.
Thanks....![]()

save your model as an eassembly.
Nope a Solidworks model cannot save as a .DWG but you can save it as a .SAT and this open in Autocad as a dumb solid.

If in doubt scale and don't ask!

Just one thing, you can place the 3d model in the solidworks 2d drawing layout and generate all the views you need, then save as a .dwg and open it in Autocad.
