Guest Xantix
I'm using AutoCAD 2000 LT to generate DXF files to drive a CNC router for making panels for electronic equipment, which works fine. I also want to export DXF files of text to engrave the panels. The router software from Step-Four says it needs the text exploded into objects (lines, curves etc) before importing the DXF file. How do I explode the text in AutoCAD for the DXF files? Regards and thanks, Xantix
f700es
Can't be done in LT, explode text that is. Try to export back to a r12 dxf and see if that works. F7 EDIT: Never mind, that did not work. I tried it in r2004 and no go Can you export oput as a .wmf file? If so that seems to work. You can then insert as a .wmf and then explode to get your lines. fuccaro
Xantix Make a search in this Forum. It was described a way to insert "text" (in fact: plines) from Word. Will this work in LT?
cncpatriot
Try the FONTCAM app in the Autodesk appstore. http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/AC...tcamtrial%3aen Or search for FONTCAM in this link : http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/ACD/Home/Index It can explode text cleanly and much more to make it easy to take it to a CNC.
