Can someone explain how it works and how to use in simple terms.
    Demo samples are welcomed.
    Thank you,

Annotation text was introduced in 2008.

Annotation text automatically adjusts to the scale of a viewport. Thus, you do not have to create the text twice, at two different scales and place it on different layers.

You can recognize annotative text by rolling your mouse over it and watching for a small icon shaped like the end view of an engineer's scale. For each scale associated with the text AutoCAD will display one icon.

    Default Annotation text?

So you place Annotation text in model space at a given height and AutoCAD
sets the height in a veiwport in paper space? Is that correct? Lets look at
    a scale of 1/4"=1'-0" with a scale factor of 48. So I can place a 48' high
annotation text in model and Autocad will adjust it to ?? height in the layout view port?

Draw your objects in model space at full scale. Do NOT draw "to scale" (i.e. - as one would on a drafting board).

Go to layout. Add your viewport(s). Set the scale of each viewport.

Take a look here... deals with annotated dimensions but the concept is the same as text
    or here

    Ok
    I drew a 10' and a 50' square in model space.
    Made a view port in a 24 x 36 border.
Set the view port to 1/4"=1'-0"
Anotation scale property of the vp is 1=1

I have not put in text in the drawing yet.
    Now what.

Here in the U.S. most people default to 1/8" height. Personally I like, and use, .0938 (3/32nds). Isn't there a company standard where you work?

    First, go to Model space.

Your text style will have to be set to Annotative, so make sure that is true first.

Next, look down at the lower right part of your screen for the Annotation Scale setting, pick that and pick the eventual plot scale you would like to use.

Then as you add text the height of the text will be 1/8", or 0.1" is what all the offices I have worked at use. The anno scale will do the math for you, multiplying the 1/8" text by the plot scale.

As you change the annotation scale the text will become larger or smaller depending on what you are selecting.

Now go to a layout, create a viewport, and set the scale in the viewport to your plot scale, IE 1/4"=1'-0". The text in MS will plot out at 0.1" high. Change the scale of the viewport to 1/8"=1'-0" and the text will adjust to plot correctly in PS at the 0.1" height.

There is a lot more to it but that should get you started down the path.

Ok so I went into model and set my annotation scale to 1/4"=1'-0"
then I flip into my view port and I do not see nothing.
I list the text in model space and it shows
    paper text height 0'-0 1/8"
    Model text height 0'-4 13/16"
The text is in my view port box.
    Whats going on?
