I use the undo icon located on the standard tool bar. Backward direction arrow.

There is a little downward facing triangle next to it that if you click will bring up pop up menu with list of all your command, you can scroll up and undo as many previous commands as you like.

If you want to use typed command

'undo'

then it askes you what you want to do next, as a default it is set to -question, enter number of command to undo, and defaults to 1.

you can eaither enter a number, say 3, and it will undo the last 3 commands.

OR

you can type one of the other question options

Auto, Control, BEgin, End, Mark, Back

I only know what the End, and Back reponses are. Should I try and explain further.

Auto

Groups the actions of a single command, making them reversible by a single U command. When the Auto option is on, starting a command groups all actions until you exit that command. You can undo the group of actions as if it were one action.

UNDO Auto is not available if the Control option has turned off or limited the UNDO feature.

Enter UNDO Auto mode [ON/OFF] : Enter on or off, or press ENTER

don't classes seem to get hung up on some weird stuff?

No wonder there's ex-students who feel like fish out of water for the first few weeks of a new job

anyway - how the heck is 'undo' supposed to be illustrated with a jpg anyway? :?

I dont understand the stuff they teach in schools now for autocad....I have been using it for years and didnt even know those options existed until reading this post...

Like I said above, I have always just used "U" and enter to undo anything that I have done...

i took the basic "I can do cad" course a in 2007 - and guess what, now i've been using autocad for about a yr properly, i maybe use 10% of What was taught at college 40% what learnt on own, 10% what told @ work and 40% what i've learn't here.

The reason that they supposedly "Teach" all the options is so you can appear to be better than u are in the interview for your job
