Default Dimension and scaling...just a quick question!

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

    Hey hey,

I've got a quick question, I'm working on a drawing that requires me to copy over a detail from another drawing, the original is in 1/10, and I need to put in my drawing as 1/25, but the dimensions are on paperspace, is there a quick way to convert the dimensions to 1/25 my drawing?

    Cheers big ears,
    John

Dimensions in paperspace will remain the same regardless of the scale of the object on the viewport as long as the dimension is ONSNAP to the object on the viewport
....always perform Beyond what is expected.

So how would I go about doing this then? Would it be a case of re-dimensioning the viewport in paperspace at 1/25...

When I try this, instead, for example, showing a gap of 50mm, it shows it as 5000...?

    Thanks though!

one thing more, check your dimension style,
this is to make sure that changing viewport scales will dimension according to the size of the object in the viewport.
or do you have your dim style this way already?

Yeah, I tried that, it's currently set to "use scale of 1.000".

Aaargh...Ok, start afresh, how do I dimension 1/25 in paperspace, like I said earlier, I have a 50mm gap, but when it comes to dimensioning it, it turns out to be 5000...?

    (Aaaargh!!) ???
check your dimstyle, under primary units, under measurement scale check the scale factor! it may be set to more than 1(maybe 100 in this case) thats why the actual dimension is multiplied
