Cheers guys, Jb it would still be somewhat similar to drawing a road on a flat plane. basic requirements on road width, ditches, minimum turning radius, PC(Point of Curve), PT(point of Tangent), PI(Point of Intersection). But you will have an addition of maintaining the slope of the road with respect to elevations per stationing, especially at the curves. Civil 3D a powerful tool in layouting roads along rolling terrains.
CarlB
A method to simply draw a vertical curve (parabola) was posted by me in this thread. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5248 ...which I learned from Mr. McSwain. There have been a few lisp routines posted as well, which you could find if you do a search for "vertical curve" or "parabola".
