AutoCAD 2008 - 3D Views in PS Viewports

The company I work for has recently upgraded to 2008 from 2006, and have encountered a number of issues with using 3D perspective views in PS viewports...

When a perspective view is created, this sets the visual style to '3Dwireframe' and causes the viewport to 'crop' any other viewports that are overlapped. The only way that we have found to stop this is to set the visual style to '2D wireframe' this causes an issue where the view then goes to a 'parallel' view...

At the same time, switching layout tabs and closing and re-opening drawings can case the perspective view to change focal length (zoom out) and therefor any call-outs in paper space will no-longer align...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That is graphical problem of autocad. You will need autodesk satisfied graphic card.Don't worry about that. When you created your perspective view, type "v" enter and save your view with new name as you like. This can be help you whenever you want to see your per: view, you can type "v" enter & select your save view and "set current" then "apply" "ok".Now you will see your's.

So you can see PS or MS when you need your per: save view.

when you are in your visual style have you tried right clicking and changing from perspective to parallel. Does this help? 2d wireframe is automatically parallel like you mentioned but you can change all the 3d views to parallel as well just like older version of cad.

also when things go out of perspective and you use the cube(wheel) to reset your view do things come back in line?

Parallel is not the issue. When in parallel the other viewports do not get cropped, and the focal length does not change. The problem is that we use perpective views quite often, and want to keep them. In 2006 this could be done while keeping the '2d wireframe' option active and the viewport would be set to hidden to create the proper view. This has only started since upgrading to 2008. A workaround is to use a polygonal viewports to avoid the other viewports, but his is cumbersome, and if it could be avoided it would be easier.
