    Question New user help!! - Apply Textures/Paint

    I've imported a 2d drawing from autocad into SU and i'm trying to apply textures using the paint bucket but it doesn't seem to like me very much!! please help!!

    Have you pushed/pulled the 2D into 3D? Are you trying to paint 2D faces. Can you share a picture of the issues you are having? Hard to tell from your post.

    yes i'm trying to paint 2d faces. here is a picture of what i'm working on.Elevation Cad Tutor.pdf the problem i'm having is that i can't just import and start painting it's like i'm going to have to redraw the whole thing.!?

    Looks like your faces are not filled in. SU has issues with this on DWGs from time to time. You can at times redraw a line and it will fill in. There is a RUBY script that can help IIRC.

    yeah but sometimes times it fills in areas that i don't want filled in. Not familiar with RUBY scripts, what are those??

    Add-ons like LISP routines for Acad. There is one already there..
    Tools - Utilities - Create Face. See if it is there.

    there is no option for utilities under "tools"

    ok cool, i just watched a video on ruby scripts and tried to download "make faces" and it won't let me install???
