Copying 3D objects between .dwg's

Currently working on a project where I am bringing together several models of buildings we have made into one complete 3D drawing of the entire area. My problem is that when I try to copy objects between windows using basic copy/paste, it doesn't copy the textures and such.

For example a greenhouse building copies as if all the pillars and windows were made out of glass. A basic brick building renders with solid white exterior. How do I copy objects and all their traits?

i have never needed to do this so its just a shot in the dark, but can you import the other files into one drawing? Im not sure if it will achieve what you are looking for.

What version you were used?For 2008,make a block and insert or copy & paste to new dwg window!
