"cutting up" a site plan

Does anyone have any tips or advice to effectively 'cut up' a site plan for a final asbuilt (electrical on a industrial site) onto 11x17 layout? My current solution is to divide the drawing up in model space & create match lines to fit my viewport to & overlay a grid on each drawing; this looks all right but is very time consuming.

Thanks in advanced to anyone with suggestions!!

Just do everything in the same place in model space, make sure they are on seperate layers, then just make multiple viewports and turn off what you dont want in certain VP's.

My first question would be how do you go about dividing the drawing up in model space & create match lines to fit my viewport to & overlay a grid on each drawing?

Viewports should be all you need to separate the sheets. If you have areas that need to be cut out of the viewport (ie - you need wacky shaped viewports) just draw a closed polyline around the area you want and use viewport clip to shape the viewport based on said polyline.

I suppose that I could have phrased that differently. What I have done is from my 11x17 layout I have zoomed into an area to the point that I can clearly read my point labels etc...& drawn a rectangle in model space to that size, and divide the site up from there. Then within each "block" I overlay a grid so that the Northing/Easting's are displayed along the limits of each drawing. I hope that helps my initial explanation.
