Create a Selection Set from Exploded MTEXT?

I have routine that, if it finds MTEXT explodes it back to TEXT.

(I want it to do that..)

But I do not know how to create a selection set from the new

TEXT entities that made up the body of the MTEXT group.

Can someone explain or show me how to do this??
