Fullalove
Is there a way to create sections views of a site, particularly where multiple surfaces overlap?
rustysilo
If you are working in Civil 3d and want a sectional view of your site there are several ways: 1.) Draw a line where you want the section, select it > quick profile (this option will go away when you save again. if you want to keep it you'll have to export to landxml and then import said landxml file.) 2.) Create an alignment across your site where you want the section, profiles > create profile from surface > select your alignment and surface(s) > draw in profile view 3.) Create an alignment perpendicular to where you want the section and then generate sections at each station where you want one. (This would take more typing here so I won't get into it unless you really want to do it this way). hint: I'd go with #
Fullalove
Thank You! Along the same lines, is there a way to edit the different material's renderings within the section view itself, so it is easier to differentiate between each? rustysilo
Different materials? You mean a different linetype or color for each section/profile? If so you do that by creating different profile styles. Look under the Toolspace > Settings tab > Profiles > Profile styles and right click it > new profile style. Set your colors, linetypes, etc. in there. Then select each respective profile > profile properties > and set your style in there. Hope that helps.
