Text numbering

Recommended Posts

Within my Mtext I have chosen the numbering option, to add to my notes, starting from 1. Due to the locations of the objects in the drawing, I have had to stop at number 16 and add notes 17 and 18 elsewhere.

Now, is there any way of making the numbering system start with anything other than "1.". In this case, I want it to be 17.

I know a few workarounds, but I'd like to know if it is possible to do what I asked.

Cheers.

In later versions, you can create columns of MTEXT, which of course preserves the numbering, but I don't think this was available in 2007.

One workaround is to create your second MTEXT object, add one entry with a number, then exit the editor. Set MTEXTED to NOTEPAD. Edit the text and change the number manually to the desired number (say 12...). Then set MTEXTED back to INTERNAL, and edit the text once more. Now when you add the next line of text, it will get the next number (13) and so on...
