Callout generation times

I did a search for this and could not find any posts.:(

I am using ADT2006 and when I create a callout (Boundary, Section, Elevation, etc.) it takes 3 to 5 minutes to generate, in a new drawing. Is there some way to get the callout to generate quicker? I tried this in two basic templates (acad.dwt & AEC Model imperial.dwt) and they both took the same amount of time. Is this just an issue with 2006?

Thanks in advance.

what kind of grunt does your machine have, and how complex is the drawing? i have a new machine and an elevation of a small house (2000 s.f.) takes a very reasonable amount of time to generate (well under a minute) but that's sort of the best case scenario.

how big is your building? I have some very small homes that take 10 seconds to do a section or elevation, and then some more complex large homes that can take quite a bit longer.
