Block attribute orientation in layouts

Hi there,

 

I want to create a simple "point cross" block with attribute text orientated at 45 degrees (i.e. orientated north east) from it. The block must re-orientate itself in the same direction when shown in differently rotated viewports.

 

I can get this to happen by ticking "annotative" and "match orientation to layout". However, the attribute text always orientates itself at 90 degrees (i.e. orientated horizontally) in both model and viewports. How can I get the attribute text to orientate itself at 45 degrees in differently rotated viewports?
