That's strange, because Direct3D is one of those embedded Windows things.

One question:

Are you trying to install the 32 bit version? I see you're running the 64 bit version of Vista. They're not compatible.

3D requirements per Autodesk. Hit the System Requirements tab.

1280 x 1024 32-bit color video display adapter (True Color) 128 MB or greater, OpenGL®, or Direct3D® capable workstation class graphics card. For Windows Vista, a Direct3D capable workstation class graphics card with 128 MB or greater is required.

well first i am trying to istall a 64 bit ver of 2009, so that couldn't be the prob.

secondly, i have working open gl with photoshop CS4, and everything is working with 3d.

i didn't try to install the direct 3d from microsoft, but i don't understand if the direct 3d is a microsoft software or from the graphics card driver?!

hey again,

i have just verified my sys situation and i have direct x10 installed and working!

3d acceleration is running, open gl is running and everything seems to be in order.

the direct x ver. is not the problem.

anyone have sugestions??
