antonydrew
good morning we have a file that is very slow regenerating between layouts and the model, especially when two of the layers are on. they contain multiple blocks totalling about 10000 metres of pipes on a drawing of an airfeild. the file is about 4.0MB big and is slow to load also. I do not want to post the file here, but will mail to you if you think you can help me regards
ReMark
Have you run a purge on the file? What are the specs of the computer (OS, RAM, and graphics card)?

ReMark
My advice would be to buy or build a serious CAD computer. The Dell DE051 uses a Celeron D processor with integrated graphics. It maxes out with just 2GB of DDR2 RAM. The CPU is stealing resources from the system RAM to run the display. This would probably explain the reason for the slow regens. Are there any Xrefs loading with this drawing? What OS are you running? XP? If so, what version? I can think of other reasons for slow performance but your hardware setup is probably the main culprit here.
antonydrew
Hi XP Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600 i ran the task manager when the regen was happening and it was using 531000k during the regen. Not sure about xternal references tho as i have not created this drawing it was sent to me to edit. I can mail you a copy if you want, but as it is not my drawing i dont really want to post on the site. cheers
